Juvenile Training Notices

  1. Training continues as normal. Despite the level 5 restrictions, an exception is made whereby school going children can still attend training. Furthermore, children and parents are permitted to travel outside their 5k zone to travel to and from training
  2. Cross Country – due to Level 5 restrictions being introduced next week, our XC will not go ahead this weekend. However, the event may well go ahead later in the year and we will update you on this. 
  3. 20×20 – Dooneen has signed the 20×20 Charter which is an initiative aimed at getting more encouraging more girls/women at player and coaching level. The first video featuring a lot of our juvenile girls is available on our Facebook page (sorry I cannot seem to attach it here) www.faccebook.com/DooneenAC. Please log on and have a look. Of our juveniles, over 65% are girls and we have a very good percentage of female coaches. We are having a few photos taken of our young female athletes and coaches tomorrow at training. Please try and get them to wear their Dooneen Zip top or training fleece
  4. Half Zip Tops – Mike is taking order for the half zip tops. Please talk to him at training or email us.
  5. Membership for 2021 – membership is now open for 2021. Please as far as possible, can you pay online via our website – http://www.dooneenathleticclub.com/member-renewals-form/

Training Times and Days

  • Monday night – U8, U9 and U10 athletes ( those born in 2011, 2012 and 2013) This takes place in Vartry field at 7pm. Please again remember not to park on or around the cul-de-sac or on Vartry Avenue.
  • Thursday night – Crescent College Comprehensive at 6.30- 7.30pm for older athletes U11 and upwards ONLY. You have all be assigned groups. Please stay in your groups.  Park at the rear only. €2 contribution per child for training
  • Saturday – 9am at UL track. All ages.

At all training sessions, we would ask parents to avoid congregating and/or standing around where possible at all.
Please bring a bag with your water bottle and hand sanitizer and a warm top, socks in case it rains. There are no changing facilities or toilets. Please arrive no more than 10 mins prior to training and observe social distancing.
Please do not attend if you have been

  • Out of the country the last 14 days
  • Around someone with symptoms of Covid-19 the last 14 days
  • In a period of self isolation
  • Displaying covid-19 symptoms
