Newsflash

Cathal O'Connor UCC - returns from injury.

For any club to have one Cathal OConnor is fine, but to have two can certainly be confusing at times. But in case members were wondering where the first one disappeared to Cathal  graduated from Glenstall Abbey in June with great results and is now studying Medicine in UCC, Cork. From an athletics perspective Cathal has been out injured since the Munster Indoors last February and is now makng a welcome return to athletics after a long absence. A native of Newmarket in north Cork, Cathal competes in a wide variety of events from 200m to 800m and also does hurdles and jumps. He is now back in training with UCC under the watchful eye of former athletic great Donie Walsh and John Sheehan and we will shortly see Cathal back in the Dooneen colours. Welcome back to Cathal.

Cathal is pictured left at the Limerick County Championships at UL in 2007.
