Six Dooneen athletes confirmed for Irish Schools team in Bedford UK. Print E-mail

It has now been confirmed that six Dooneen athletes have been selected by the Irish Schools Athletics Association to represent Ireland in the SIAB schools international meeting on Saturday, July the 19th in Bedford, England. The athletes selected including the St. Caimin’s three, were:

  • Cathal O’Connor, St. Caimin’s         -        1500m Steeplechase
  • Timmy Crowe, St. Caimin’s             -        400m Hurdles and 4x400m
  • Nathan Jege, St. Caimin’s              -        Long Jump
  • Shannen Ryan, Col Chiaran Croom   -        1500m
  • Ailish Sheehan, Copsewood College -         Shot
  • Jane Dickinson, Crescent College     -        4x100m with 100m to be confirmed

Record Breaking Munsters for Dooneen U10-U14 Athletes in Templemore

Ashling  Croke in superb jumping form broke 1982 U14 Girls High Jump record with 1.53M jump. Dylan Sheehan broke the 2006 600m U13 boys record. Mark Varley won gold in the 80m. Greg O' Shea took home Gold in the 80m  and 200m Sprint and broke the 2000 80m 14 boys record. U13 Girls Relay took home the only relay gold. More details in the results.
