Dooneen athletes performed very well for Ireland at the SIAB Schools International in Bedford at the weekend winning gold, silver and bronze medals and contributing a total of 39 points to the Irish team who came second to the English schools team on the day. Top Dooneen performance came from Timmy Crowe who ran a new PB in unfavourable windy conditions, to take bronze in the 400m hurdles. Later he anchored the 4x400m relay team home to take his second medal of the day. It is clear his revised training programme is now paying dividends and his coaches in Ireland and Spain were delighted.
