At the AII indoor relay championships in Nenagh last April, Dooneen served notice that they would be a force in Irish juvenile relay running this year and even with a few absentees in the sunshine in Tullamore, could still call on enough athletes to enter eleven teams, with eight featuring in the medals, and one just squeezed out in a photofinish. While there was no records broken it could easily be a new record to get that many relay teams into one bus. In summary u15, u16, and u17 girls teams took gold and they were joined by the 'pocket rockets' led by Mark Varley and Dylan Sheehan who took gold in the u13 boys. Silver went to the u14 girls, while the older boys teams specialised in the Bronze medals at u14,u17,and u18.
