Young Dooneen Athletes shine in Cross Country at Bilboa.
On a lovely sunny day in Bilboa last Sunday it was over to the young Dooneen athletes to shine.  First up were the boys u10s who  took first place in the team event and were led home by young Tommy O'Hora who had a fine run in to 3rd place. He was ably  assisted on the day by Mark McDermot, David McNamara, Robert Corby, Eoin Beery, John O'Flynn, Cathal Locke, and Liam Wilson in a fine team effort.

Next up were the girls u12s who did well to take second place in the team event which included, Shauna Ryan, Laura Kerr, Aishling Hehir, Aine Ryan, Leigh Madden, and Alice Parks. The boys u12 like their clubmates in the u10s also took gold in the team event and they were led home by the highly promnising Brian Ryan in 3rd who was assisted by Stephen Scanlon, Darragh Aherne, Brian Barry, Roy Gleeson, and Stephen Casey.

Next up in the girls u14 was the ever improving Jessica Coyne whose training in UL and more recently in Cratloe Hills is now paying off, as she stormed home for a great victory. This victory will be well received by her father Harry a great local Limerick basketballer in his youth, some years ago. Jessica's victory was followed up with another Dooneen victory by Aishling Costelloe in the girls u16. To round off the day Shane Burke did well to finish 4th in the boys u16 race.

Well done to all and its hoped that there will be a stronger turn out for the next race locally in UL in 2 weeks time.
