Nearly 4,000 people participated in the second race of the Dublin Marathon Race Series on Saturday. Well done to Kat Reddan, who ran 1:44:16.

 

 

Dooneen at the Racecourse

Limerick Racecourse was the venue for Dooneen at the Racecourse, featuring the Munster Mile and 5K on Sunday. Sincere thanks to all of our participants, sponsors, and volunteers for supporting the event.

The Munster Mile was won by Shane O’Sullivan of Dooneen in 4:51. Jessica Coyne of Dooneen won the women’s race in 5:18. Finley Jones of Phoenix Brighton A.C. won the U16 boys’ mile in 5:22, and Emma Flynn won the U16 girls’ mile.

Following Shane was Cormac Downes in 4:55, Jessica, Alan McCutcheon in 6:08, Julianne Deegan in 6:29, John Shier in 6:40, John Higgins in 7:02, Ruby Deegan in 7:14, Catherine McCutcheon in 7:17, Robert Coll in 7:20, Yvonne Deegan in 7:24, Robert McCutcheon in 7:28, Verena Tarpey in 7:32, Sarah Williams in 8:05, Marie Keane in 8:31, Hannah Williams in 8:31, Karen Raine in 9:12, and Niall Harris in 12:05.

Gary Scully of Nenagh won the 5K in 16:33, followed by Seán Quirke of Bilboa in 17:18, and Cormac Downes of Dooneen in 17:59. It was a Dooneen 1-2-3 in the women’s race, as Jessica Coyne doubled up with victory in 18:10, followed by Sinéad McDermott, in a PB of 19:54, and Karen Raine in a season’s best of 21:22. Robin Philips from the UK was first M40 in 20:07, while Sheila Clavin of West Limerick was first F40 in 22:32. First M50 was Henry Downes of Dooneen in 18:49, while first F50 was Judith Webster-Sanders in 26:01.

Next home from Dooneen was Joseph McCarthy in 23:12, followed by Declan Histon in 23:14, John Shier in 24:00, Marie Keane in 24:19, Ger Meehan in 24:35, Verena Tarpey in 24:58, Shane Ryan in 25:12, Luke Tuohy in 25:18, Breda Leo in 28:10, June Clifford in 28:22, Gillian Cunneen in 30:21, Angela Higgins in 30:53, John Higgins in 30:54, Shona O’Flynn in 33:22, Marion O’Halloran in 34:16, and Lorraine Tuohy in 47:11.

Boston Scientific Half-Marathon

Over 800 people turned out for this half-marathon in Clonmel on Sunday. Well done to Emer O’Mahony, who ran 1:35:07.

Ger Meehan ran parkrun Kraków, Shane O’Sullivan, Alison Flynn, Claire Knight (who ran a PB), Niall Harris, Breda Leo, Seamus O’Flynn, Marion O’Halloran, and Shona O’Flynn all ran Limerick parkrun, while Gerard O’Shea (who ran a PB), Ray Enright, and Claire Forward ran Mungret parkrun.
