Caherconlish Tom Walsh Memorial 10K

There was a large field of almost 300 runners taking part in this popular road race on Sunday. Running conditions were almost perfect with sunny and dry conditions.

1st male runner home was Declan Moore of Bilboa A.C. in 32:13 and 1st female runner home was Siobhan O’Doherty of Borrisokane A.C. in 36:22.

First home for Dooneen was Joe O’Brien in 34:58, followed by Dermot Kearns in 35:31 (and 1st O/40 male), Shane Ryan in a PB of 37:45, Derek Cullen in 39:08, Rosemary Ryan in 39:25, Shona O’Flynn in 40:26, Henry Downes in 40:50, Karen Raine in 43:02, Alison Flynn in a PB of 45:02, John Shier in 48:36, Marie Keane in 50:19, Katherine Reddan in 57:13, Michelle Kennedy in 57:58 and Conor Lovett in 58:04. Joe Chawke paced 50 minutes and Ger Meehan paced 60 minutes. Well done to all athletes and race organizers.

Munster Juvenile Indoor Relays

These championships were held in Nenagh on Sunday.


Victoria Amiadamen, Aimee Ryan, Debbie Lawal, and Emer Conroy won gold in the U16 4 x 200m in 1:50.72. Sarah Butler, Maria Campbell, Debbie Lawal, and Victoria Amiadamen won silver in the U17 4 x 200m in 2:27.53. Ella Dillon, Sally Dickson, Oyimkansola Adedeji, and Sarah Butler finished 4th in the U18 4 x 200m in 1:55.95.


Luke Tuohy, Diro Lawal, Fintan O’Sullivan, and Tessy Lawal won bronze in the U19 4 x 200m in 1:40.79.

Well done to all the athletes.




Marion O’Halloran ran Lees Road parkrun, while Shane O’Sullivan, Brian Halpin, James Connolly, Alison Flynn, Patrick Noonan, June Clifford, Breda Leo, and Michelle Kennedy all ran Limerick parkrun.



Club membership

Club membership for 2020 is now due and should be paid before the end of January. Membership has many benefits and if you are not registered you are not covered by Athletics Ireland insurance and therefore you can’t train with the club. You can join Dooneen or renew your membership online.

Adult Training​
Adult Training takes place at 6:15pm on Tuesday & 7pm on Thursday in UL. Fit4Life/Meet and Train takes place in Mungret at 6:15pm on Fridays. Long run takes place every Sunday at 9am in UL or Cratloe. New members & beginners are always welcome. Contact Dooneen Facebook page for more details.

Juvenile Training

Juvenile training takes place every Monday night at 7pm & every Thursday night at 6.30pm in Crescent Comprehensive. There is also training at the track in UL every Saturday at 10am.
