Liscarroll 5K
90 people participated in this 5K on Friday. Congratulations to Cormac Downes who won the race in 17:39, and well done to Henry Downes who came 4th in 18:41.

National Masters Track & Field Championships
These championships took place in Tullamore on Sunday. Ger O’Shea won the M35 400m in 57.23, and claimed bronze in the 200m in 25.60. Tim Ryan claimed bronze in the M55 100m in 13.30, took silver in the 200m in 27.91, and won the 400m in 1:00.71. Shane O’Sullivan won bronze in the M35 800m in a PB of 2:05.66, and finished 5th in the 1500m in 4:32.57. John Sheehan took silver in the M60 Hammer with a throw of 31.08m, in the Javelin with a throw of 34.36m, in the Discus with a throw of 39.35m, and in the High Jump with a clearance of 1.30m. Congratulations and well done to everybody.

Eileen Reeves ran Worthing parkrun in the UK, Ger Meehan ran Vandeleur parkrun in Kilrush, Niall Harris, Shona O’Flynn, Alison Flynn, Patrick Noonan, Seamus O’Flynn, Meena Verma (who ran a PB), Marion O’Halloran, and Shane O’Sullivan ran Limerick parkrun, while Louise Matthews and David Rohan ran Mungret parkrun.

Dooneen at the Racecourse
Limerick Racecourse is the venue for Dooneen at the Racecourse, featuring the Munster Mile and 5K. This event is a fundraiser for the development of our land in Mungret. It is being run in conjunction with the Limerick Show on Sunday August 25th. Our charity partner for Dooneen at the Racecourse is Pieta House.
Dooneen at the Racecourse is a great family fun day aimed to encourage people of all abilities to run/jog/walk the Munster Mile or 5K in the stunning surroundings of Limerick Racecourse. There will be pacers running 20, 25, and 30 minutes for the 5K. Entry fee for the Munster Mile is €10 for adults, €15 for the 5K, €5 for all U16s, and €25 for a family. All race entries include free entry to the Limerick Show.
All finishers of the Munster Mile will receive a commemorative medal. The first 80 people to enter the Munster 5K will receive a commemorative t-shirt. There is a prize fund of €1000.

Adult Training​
Adult Training takes place on Tuesdays at 6:15pm & Thursdays at 7pm in UL. Long run takes place every Sunday at 9am in UL or Cratloe. Fit4Life/Meet and Train takes place on Fridays in Mungret at 6:15pm. New members & beginners are always welcome. Contact Dooneen Facebook page for more details.
