Limerick Senior & Intermediate Cross-Country Championships

The Limerick Senior & Intermediate Cross-Country Championships took place in Bilboa, Cappamore on Sunday.

The women’s race was the first of the day. Rosemary Ryan lead from the gun, 2nd home was Sinéad McDermott, next home was Karen Raine, followed by Louise Matthews, Verena Tarpey and Marie Keane to ensure Dooneen won Senior team gold.

Sinéad McDermott won the Intermediate title and Louise Matthews claimed bronze.

Declan Moore of Bilboa ran a brilliant race to win the Senior men’s title. The Dooneen men’s team won Senior bronze with Eoghan Beary in 5th, followed by Thomas Klimas, Dermot Kearns, James Connolly, Henry Downes and Kevin Johnson.

Eoghan Beary finished 2nd in the Intermediate race, and led the team of Thomas Klimas, James Connolly, and Kevin Johnson to team silver.

Huge thanks to Bilboa A.C. for organizing the event and making it a great day. Congratulations and well done to all.

parkrun
Marie Keane ran East Grinstead parkrun in the U.K., Ann MacPhail ran Clarisford parkrun, Shane O’Sullivan, Cian Aherne (who ran a PB), John Shier (who ran a PB), Breda Leo, and Aly Hogan O’Curry ran Limerick parkrun, while Brian Halpin, Mike Griffin, Sarah Butler, Elaine Lyons, David Rohan, Catherine Sheehan, John Sheehan, Michelle Kennedy and Marion O’Halloran ran Mungret parkrun.

Adult Training​
Adult Training takes place on Tuesdays at 6:15pm & Thursdays at 7pm in UL. Long run takes place every Sunday at 9am in UL or Cratloe. Fit4Life/Meet and Train takes place on Fridays in Mungret at 6:15pm. New members & beginners are always welcome. Contact Dooneen Facebook page for more details.

Juvenile Training
Juvenile training takes place every Monday night at 7pm & every Thursday night at 6.30pm in Crescent Comprehensive. There is also training at the track in UL every Saturday at 10am.
