Gotri 5K

The first Gotri Shannon Summer Run Series 5K took place on Wednesday. Well done to Declan Histon, who ran 22:12.

Lombardstown 5-Mile

Over 150 people
took part in this race on Thursday hosted by Mt. Hilary A.C. Well done to
Cormac Downes, who ran 29:34.

 

GR8K

Nearly 200 people
turned out for this race in Mitchelstown on Friday evening. Well done to Mike
Griffin, who ran 33:22.

East Cork Harbour Marathon

This event took
place on Saturday, and encompassed a marathon, half-marathon, and 10K. Well
done to Kate Twohig, who ran 1:52:21, and to Katherine Reddan, who ran 2:17:44.

Galway Clinic Streets of Galway
8K

Over 2,500 lined up
for this race on Saturday evening. First home from Dooneen was John Shier in
39:59, followed by Ger Meehan in 40:51, Eileen Reeves in 42:36, and Marion
O’Halloran in 53:07. Well done to all.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Dublin
Half-Marathon

A huge crowd of
almost 7,000 people participated in this half-marathon in Dublin on Sunday. Well
done to Meena Verma, who ran 2:15:44.

Curraghchase 10K

This popular race
attracted a large crowd of more than 480 participants on Sunday.
Congratulations to Jessica Coyne, who won the women’s race in 39:02, and
congratulations to Thomas Klimas, who was 2nd in the men’s race in
37:38. Also running from Dooneen was Alison Flynn, who ran 46:12, followed by
Agnieszka Klimas in 50:10, Robert Coll in 54:12, Patrick Noonan in 56:41,
Katherine Reddan in 1:01:30, and Seamus O’Flynn in 1:02:42. John Shier and
Shona O’Flynn paced 55 minutes, and Elaine Lyons, Eileen Reeves, and Ger Meehan
paced 60 minutes. Well done to everybody who took part.

parkrun
Breda Leo ran Listowel parkrun,
Michelle Kennedy ran Vandeleur parkrun in Kilrush, Shane O’Sullivan, Niall
Harris, Karen Raine, Éoin Carey, Patrick Noonan, and Ger Meehan all
ran Limerick parkrun, while Louise Matthews, Aly Hogan O’Curry, and Marion
O’Halloran ran Mungert parkrun.   

Dooneen at the Racecourse

Limerick Racecourse
is the venue for Dooneen at the Racecourse, featuring the Munster Mile and 5K.
This event is a fundraiser for the development of our land in Mungret. It is
being run in conjunction with the Limerick Show on Sunday August 25th.
Our charity partner for Dooneen at the Racecourse is Pieta House.

Dooneen at the
Racecourse is a great family fun day aimed to encourage people of all abilities
to run/jog/walk the Munster Mile or 5K in the stunning surroundings of Limerick
Racecourse. There will
be pacers running 20, 25, and 30 minutes for the 5K.
Entry fee for the Munster Mile is €10 for adults, €15 for the 5K, €5 for all
U16s, and €25 for a family. All race entries include free entry to the Limerick
Show.

All finishers of the Munster Mile will receive a commemorative medal. The first 80 people to enter the Munster 5K will receive a commemorative t-shirt. There is a prize fund of €1000.

Adult Training takes place on Tuesdays at 6:15pm & Thursdays at 7pm in UL.
Long run takes place every Sunday at 9am in UL or Cratloe. Fit4Life/Meet and
Train takes place on Fridays in Mungret at 6:15pm. New members & beginners
