Borrisoleigh Track Attack 5K

This race took place on Wednesday with a large turnout of over 200. Well done to Robert McCarthy, who added the 5K to his list of PBs this year, running 19:34.



Irish Life Health National Senior Track & Field Championships

These championships were held in Santry over the weekend.

Women’s 100m hurdles

Sarah Lavin of Emerald and UCD A.C. continued her recent great form to win the Women’s 100m Hurdles in 13.30 from Sarah Quinn (St. Colman’s South Mayo) in 13.47, with Dooneen’s Lilly-Ann O’Hora coming a close 3rd in 13.60.


Women’s 800m

Sarah Lanigan finished 9th in her 800m heat in 2:17.15.

Men’s 100m

Mark Varley finished 3rd in his 100m heat in 11.15.

Men’s 400m Hurdles

The Men’s 400m Hurdles, in the absence of Thomas Barr, was won by Paul Byrne of of St. Abban’s in 51.73, just ahead of Jason Harvey of Crusaders in 51.78, with Cathal Locke of Dooneen A.C. running a strong race from a difficult lane 6 to finish 3rd in 53.31. Congratulations and well done to everybody who competed.



Shona O’Flynn and Seamus O’Flynn ran Bere Island parkrun, Oran Kennedy ran Vandeleur parkrun in Kilrush, Shane O’Sullivan, Niall Harris, Claire Knight (who ran a PB), Ger Meehan, and Breda Leo Limerick parkrun, and Jonathan Coleman (who ran a PB), Louise Matthews, Meena Verma (who ran a PB), and Marion O’Halloran ran Mungret parkrun.

– Dooneen at the Racecourse Mile & 5K, 25th August, 12pm,

Adult Training
Adult Training takes place on Tuesdays at 6:15pm & Thursdays at 7pm in UL. Long run takes place every Sunday at 9am in UL or Cratloe. Fit4Life/Meet and Train takes place on Fridays in Mungret at 6:15pm. New members & beginners are always welcome. Contact Dooneen Facebook page for more details.
