Munster U9-U11 indoor finals

U9-U11 Munster Indoor Finals, Nenagh

 

Well done to all the Dooneen athletes who travelled to Nenagh on Saturday to compete in the Munster indoor championships. All of the athletes put in a huge effort on the day and the coaches are very proud of their efforts.

U9 boys and girls

Kate Cantwell, Aimee Sweeney, Gyte Andrijauskaite, Robert Purtill, Sean Moriarty, Dillon Ryle Bourke and Robert Lynch competed in various events including 60m sprints, long jump and 300m distance running.

U10 boys and girls

We had a strong group of athletes in this age category too including Sally O’Dwyer, Eilis O’Neill, Grace Kenneally, Ellen Goggin, Ruby Hughes, Beibhinn Collins, Ava Williams O’Dowd,  Robert McCutcheon, Sean McMahon, Ruan Kelliher and Conor Toomey. They competed in 60m sprints, long jump and 500m races. Ellen Goggin won a silver medal in the 500m race.

U11 boys and girls

Emer Purtill, Aisling O’Sullivan, Orla Mellett, Destiny Lawel, Amy Cunneen, Catherine McCutcheon, Emma Pethos, Niamh Hynes, Samantha Tenzer, Megan O’Shea,  Roisin O’Neill, Lily McMahon, Sophia Meaney, Sarah Williams, Eoin O’Shaughnessy, Evan Ekoua, Ian O’Brien and Cathal Sweeeney all competed in a number of events including shot put, long jump, sprints and 600m.

Emer Purtill won silver in the shot put, Destiny Lawel won the 60m and 600m races. Lily McMahon won silver in the 60m sprint final and Emma Pethos won bronze in the 600m race. Ian O’Brien won bronze in the sprint final.
