Weekend action in Nenagh and Athlone

The National Indoor Combined events took place in Athlone on Saturday and Leagh Moloney represented Dooneen AC. The combined events are varied from shot put, long jump, high jump to hurdles and middle distance running. Leagh competed in the U14 girls group and came 6th overall. Munster field event finals – Nenagh Indoor Stadium

The Munster throws and jumps finals took place on Sunday in Nenagh.

High Jump

Ella Dillon of Dooneen AC won silver in the U17 high. Leagh Moloney and Emma Griffin both competed in the U14 long jump. Leagh won silver in this event.

Munster Relay finals

Nenagh was also the venue for the Munster relay finals on Sunday and teams from across Munster competed in events throughout the day. Dooneen fielded teams in almost every age category and also had multiple teams in many of the younger age groups. Well done to those who competed

Boys/Girls U9 and 10

Dooneen AC had teams that competed in a number of heats at U9 and U10. The U9 Dooneen boys won bronze and Dooneen U10 girls team reached the final coming 4th overall.

Boys/Girls U11 and U12

Dooneen AC had 3 U11 girls teams and two competed in the final coming first and third. The U11 boys ran well in their heat but did not reach the final. The U12 boys from Dooneen claimed bronze in the final and the U12 girls won their final.

Boys/Girls U13 and U14

Dooneen AC won gold in the Girls U13 final. The boys ran well but did not reach the final.  Dooneen AC had two teams in the U14 boys and girls final. The boys won gold and silver. The girls were first and 4th.

Boys/Girls U15 – U18

Dooneen won silver in the girls U15 final. In the U16 final, Dooneen won gold. Dooneen girls were 4th in the U17 final and 2nd in the U18 final. Dooneen boys were 4th in the U18 final.
