Great Performances At Munsters

Posted on Jan 19, 2015 in Fit4Life, Junior Events Blog, Latest News, Results, Senior Events Blog

A beautiful winters morning, with the sun shining in a spectacular shade of blue, saw our athletes brave the elements and make their way back to Nenagh for the Munster Senior & Masters Indoor Championships
Dooneen were among the most well represented clubs, not only were we strong in numbers but also in our achievements, with many a win, medal and PB coming home.
The senior side was represented by the triple jump duo of Niall and Fiona, very cold conditions for jumping but it didn’t stop them earning a double gold while showing off some of their incredible ninja moves.
The masters were out in force and a couple of newbies in addition to the group, it really is great to see more and more people giving the track a go, and more importantly, loving the experience.
Fantastic results by all individually as well as in the relays. The ladies team stormed to victory in a very exciting race and claimed gold. The men’s team ran like champions, but were very unlucky to finish in 4th place. A big thank you to Joe Chawke who was half way home and half thawed out, only to turn the car around to make up a relay team for the boys, after someone got injured, that really is what its all about, team effort and team pride.

A huge thank you to Steve, Dave, Niall and Joe for their continuous efforts and training, none of this can happen without their help
