Cross County senior and juvenile finals

The County juvenile/senior cross country races are taking place this Sunday in Bilboa AC starting at 12.30pm. Can parents please bring €2 entry fee per child to cover the costs of entry for the races.  For those not familiar with Bilboa AC, the address is Cappamore, Co Limerick and the eircode is V94 H773. We have a lot of athletes competing this weekend, all of them are on teams with other children,  so please arrive early at 11.30am – we need to get singlets for a couple of new members, race numbers and we need to walk the course before the races start. The U10, 12 and 14 athletes all have different courses to run and there is a map attached.

Juvenile XC Relays

The inaugural county juvenile cross country relay championships held in UL and hosted by Limerick AC. Well done to all the young athletes that came out to support this event today. It was nice relaxed atmosphere with lots of different athletes turning up to make up teams – from sprinters, to middle distance runners to cross country athletes.

SIAB Schools

Congratulations to Jack O’Connor and his team representing Ireland at the SIAB Schools International in Swansea at the weekend and taking the silver medal in the 4x400m relay. A fantastic achievement.

National Juvenile finals

The National Juvenile Championships ended this weekend with juvenile relays and B championships after 3 weeks of competition in various venues around Ireland. A number of athletes from Dooneen competed in the National finals and relays

U14 boys and girls
Josh Boland won a silver medal in the hurdles and was 5th in the 200m final. Denis Matthews won gold in the 80m final. Jayden Carmody also competed in two events, namely the 80m and the long jump. Leagh Moloney won a bronze medal in the high jump, silver in the long jump and also competed in the 80m sprints. Yanna Leahy competed in the shot put, coming 7th overall and achieving a personal best and Angel Alfred also competed in the 200m heats.

End of year party for juveniles

Good morning.

Training for all members at Crescent College Comprehensive finishes up on Monday week, the 24th of June.  Training on the track at UL on Thursdays is confined to those competing in Munster B or All Ireland competition from now on.  For those who are progressing to All Ireland Finals, there will still be training on Monday nights in July.

The end of year party is on Wednesday the 26th of June a 7pm in The Old Crescent Rugby Club.  All juvenile members and parents are invited to attend! We hope to see you there.
